Description
These orange maple glazed Brussels sprouts are buttery, zesty, and caramelized—an easy side that pairs with many main dishes.
Ingredients
- 3 cups of brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved lengthwise
- 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- 2 tbsp pure maple syrup
- 2 tbsp freshly squeezed orange juice
- 1 tbsp freshly grated orange zest
- 4 tbsp cold unsalted butter
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp sea salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, toss the halved Brussels sprouts with olive oil and sea salt until evenly coated.
- Arrange the sprouts cut side down in a single layer on the prepared sheet. Roast for 15 minutes, or until edges are browned and tender.
- While the sprouts roast, make the glaze: combine balsamic vinegar, maple syrup, orange juice, and orange zest in a small saucepan over medium heat. Simmer for about 4 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and whisk in the cold butter until the sauce is glossy and slightly thickened. Set aside.
- When the sprouts are done, let them cool about 5 minutes, transfer to a serving bowl, pour the glaze over the top, toss gently, and serve warm.
