A contemporary spin on the classic Italian soda: this version swaps club soda for Red Bull energy drink for a fizzy, flavored boost.

Have you noticed the viral drink trend that turns Italian sodas into Red Bull creations?
I first saw clips of them on TikTok and was curious to try one. They’ve become particularly popular in parts of the Pacific Northwest, where small drive-thru drink stands serve bright, flavored Red Bull sodas to people who want an alternative pick-me-up to coffee.

We keep a stash of flavored syrups for drinks and desserts, so I made one at home and immediately fell in love. These taste even better than the Italian sodas I used to enjoy as a kid—creamy, bright, and refreshingly caffeinated. They’re now my go-to afternoon boost and a fun option before a night out.
Ingredients

-
Red Bull – Use Red Bull or any energy drink you prefer. Avoid sugar-free varieties, which can cause cream to curdle.
-
Half & Half – Substitute heavy cream or whole milk if that’s what you have available.
-
Flavored Syrup – Any flavored syrup works. Torani-style syrups are common and provide many flavor options. Pick one flavor or mix two for a custom combination.
-
Ice – Serve this drink very cold. Any ice is fine; pebble or crushed ice chills quickly and blends nicely with the drink.
How To Make

-
Fill a tall cup with ice.
-
Add your flavored syrup — about 1–2 tablespoons, or to taste.
-
Pour the Red Bull over the ice and syrup.
-
Finish with a splash of half & half or cream on top.
Italian Red Bull Soda Flavors
The flavor possibilities are nearly endless when you have a variety of syrups on hand. Combining colors and complementary tastes creates playful, nostalgic results.
One of my favorites is blue raspberry with coconut—the mixture with Red Bull and cream produces a candy-like Sweet Tart profile.
Popular combinations to try:
-
Orange Creamsicle – Orange + Vanilla
-
Route 44 – Cherry + Lime
-
Sweet Tart – Blue Raspberry + Coconut
-
Berries & Cream – Blackberry + Raspberry + Strawberry
-
Summer S’more – Peach + Toasted Marshmallow
-
Hawaii 5-0 – Banana + Orange + Pineapple
-
Watermelon Sugar – Watermelon + Lime
-
Peaches & Cream – Peach + Vanilla
-
Tiger’s Blood – Strawberry + Watermelon + Coconut
-
Strawberry Shortcake – Strawberry + Vanilla
-
Caramel Apple – Green Apple + Caramel

Tips
-
If you prefer a non-creamy version, leave out the half & half. You’ll still get a flavorful, fizzy Red Bull beverage without the creamy finish.
-
To combine layers easily, use a cup with a lid and swirl gently to mix, or stir carefully with a long spoon to avoid excessive fizzing.
